It’s the parenting dilemma of the digital age: How do we encourage our kids to take advantage of all that technology affords while protecting them from the documented dangers of too much screen time? How, as adults, do we model healthy use of technology when we, too, fight the allure of smart phones and social media? At CSD, digital citizenship is promoted every day in our classrooms. We empower students to appropriately use digital media to explore the world, gain knowledge and connect with new ideas and people — and we’re partnering this year with the Utah PTA to support students in continuing to blaze a positive digital trail. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to participate in the PTA’s inaugural “Don’t Be Mean Behind the Screen” video competition. This is a great opportunity for those were already planning to compete in CSD’s Film Festival — and a chance to earn double the recognition and prizes! Entries are due: Feb. 15 – March 31.
