Our next three meetings are December 18th, January 8th, and January 22nd.
November was a big month of service for National Junior Honor Society members at IHMS.
First, our NJHS members demonstrated the true spirit of service and community by organizing and leading a school-wide food drive to benefit the Utah Food Bank. The project began with NJHS members planning and promoting the food drive, creating eye-catching posters, and making announcements to rally support. Every day for two weeks, NJHS members met to sort, count, and prepare the donations for delivery. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and their efforts inspired students, staff, and families alike to participate in this meaningful cause. The donation of over 5,000 items will go a long way in supporting individuals and families in need across Utah.
Following the Food Drive, NJHS members created over 60 hand-drawn pictures, vibrant coloring pages, personal letters, and uplifting messages for activity military members, veterans, and first responders. Each item was designed with care and thoughtfulness. These heartfelt creations are being mailed to Operation Gratitude to be distributed to veterans’ organizations, active military personnel, and local first responder departments, ensuring that our gratitude reaches a wide audience. The project not only served as a token of appreciation but also as a reminder to the students about the importance of recognizing and valuing those who dedicate their lives to service.
We are incredibly proud of our NJHS students for their creativity, compassion, and dedication to making a positive impact near and far. Their efforts embody the NJHS pillars of leadership, service, and character.
