Open seats for 2022-2023 school year – Tess Hortin
- We will nominate chair/vice chair in the fall
- Tess’s seat will be open in the fall. We are grateful for all she has done as our chair and as a member of our SCC.
Counseling Center – Roxann Wolfe
- The Student Center will be hosting a Substance Abuse Prevention Session Thursday April 28, 2022 @ 6-7 pm in the Warrior Room. Information night regarding substance abuse prevention. Topics include: communication, stress and coping, peer pressure, brain development, vaping, finding your natural high, and decision-making. Our School Resource Officer, Officer Boots, has also been invited to attend and share current trends and issues.
- Parents would like more clarification on who this applies to and who exactly is invited.
- Next year our Kindness Campaign will be focusing on the USBE Portrait of a Graduate. The model is based on 13 different characteristics that focus on Mastery, Autonomy, and Purpose (MAP). - Each year the Student Center does a Accountability and Data Project. For the 21/22 school year we focused on increasing student competency in coping skills. We looked at our small student coping workshops (6 week) using pre/post surveys to students participating. Students measured their perceived competency in 20 coping skills with an average increase of 36%. We will continue to offer these small group workshops as the data indicates they are beneficial for our students.
Thanks for all the support this year. We are looking forward to some R&R this summer and excited for a next school year.
