Agenda:

Welcome and approval of minutes – Katie Atkinson, Chair

Doug moved that we approve the minutes and Alan seconded.

  1. Guest Speaker – Katie Atkinson
    1. Katie has a meeting with Josh Downs tomorrow. We are not going to do Fridays and will look at the calendar to schedule dates
  2. TSI Status
    1. We have fallen into the lowest 5% in the state on our test scores. Our targeted group of students is our special education population.  Some opted out and that goes against us.  Doug also went over our school grade which is a C.  We are close to a B though.  Doug went over test score data provided on the state website.  Our growth is still good.  We hope to focus on growth with all of our students.  Jason asked if these scores included our opt out scores or not?  Doug is going to reach out to our district specialist and get back to us.  We want to make sure that we are sending the message that testing is about the students and their success.  We want to make this positive for students and help them celebrate their scores and their growth on the tests.
  3. TSSP and LAND Trust Plans – Initial look at next year’s planning
    1. With the TSI in mind, we can start thinking about our plans for next year. We are seeing an increase in more diverse populations at our school.  Look at the plan online and start thinking about ideas.
  4. Student Center Update – Roxann Wolfe
    1. End of the semester – schedule changes are very limited. We will focus on student needs (IEPs, support classes, etc.)
    2. Alta is starting their registration process and we will as well. End of January is our 5th grade parent night as well as our day tours.
    3. Registration will be wrapped up by February 17th.
  5. PTSA Update – Lisa Kendrick
    1. We have a president elect for next year!
    2. We are going to change our way of doing Spirit Wear because it is not working as well as we hoped
    3. Still looking for people who want to serve on the PTSA
  6. Other items not listed
  7. Adjournment
    1. Jason moved to adjourn and Navina seconded
