Agenda:
- Welcome & Approve October Minutes
- Mindy moved to approve minutes and Alan seconded.
- Counseling Center Update
- Data project – going and doing mini lessons in the English Language Development class. We have been doing that every Friday.
- Utah College week – we have some fun activities and dress up days.
- We are starting our PCCR’s with our 8th grade students. We taught 2 lessons to 8th grade classrooms about high school planning. 8th grade students then do a module on Canvas and then meet with their assigned counselor. Parents are welcome at those meetings as well.
- Alta field trip is coming up in January for our 8th graders.
- PTSA Updates
- Lisa Kendrick was not here, so Mindy Cupello filled in for her.
- They are providing pies for teachers and staff.
- They are doing Veteran’s Day activities.
- Ms. Karren thanked the PTSA for the fun Red Ribbon week that we had last week.
- Safety Plan: Review & Finalize
- Our plan last year addressed anxiety, healthy relationships, and healthy coping skills.
- We had Josh Downs come present at the school as well as a variety of things supported by our wellness staff in our student center.
- Ms. Karren went over our Climate data from last year.
- Alan mentioned that we should come up with competitions where all the student body is on the same team. We have small team unity, but maybe not Indian Hills community as a whole.
- School spirit messages in the hallway (i.e. empathy, fairness, etc)
- Building a sense of community – compliment one person at school today, do something kind for someone today, sit by someone new today. Link with students chained together. Have WEB leaders, PTSA students, NJHS come up with ideas.
- Compliment cards for students from students
- Our plan last year addressed anxiety, healthy relationships, and healthy coping skills.
- School State Accountability Report Review for 2022-23
- Ms. Karren went over our school accountability report data.
- Math is still a concern as far as growth and achievement.
- Our English Language Learners’ achievement is also an area of concern.
- Ms. Karren went over our school accountability report data.
