Dear Indian Hills Middle School Community:
We are excited to have concluded our Make-A-Wish Fundraiser. While we are still tallying the donations we received online over the weekend, the 8th graders appear to be on their way to winning this year’s competition.
A reminder that the winning grade will attend a celebratory assembly on March 27th to meet Isla, our Make-A-Wish student. Thanks to all who have helped tally the funds each day and those who have supported the spirit days!
End of 3rd Quarter is on Friday, March 22nd: A reminder that the quarter ends on Friday and that Monday, March 25th is a no student day to allow teachers to complete grades for the term.
Good luck Intramural Basketball Teams! This week as March Madness begins on the collegiate basketball level, our 6th-8th girls and boys will participate in an intramural competition at Jordan High School after school this week on March 19th (8th grade), March 20th (7th grade), and March 21st (6th grade). Good luck to our teams!
Memory Book Reminders from the PTSA: This is a friendly reminder that if your student goes by a different first name at school and would like that name to be printed in the Memory Book, please email the PTSA at IndianHillsPTSA@gmail.com by Friday, March 22nd. We will need to know your student’s current name on Skyward and what grade they are in as well as what the change should be. Also, the last day to preorder Memory Books is Wednesday, March 27th. Books can be purchased through Skyward under the Fee section. There will be a limited supply for purchase on the day we hand out Memory Books. Thank You!
March Library Events:
March Madness Book Tournament
This week students submitted March Madness book brackets to try to predict the winning book. Results so far are pictured below. Students may submit the staff selection portion of the
slides until March 29. Both the bracket competition and staff selection competition winners will receive a $40 Amazon shopping spree. We hope this encourages students to find and read some books they have never read before! Happy reading, everyone!
Book Blitz
Throughout the year, we have had several teams of students practicing for Book Blitz competition. Teams of four to five students read 20 books among the groups. They then compete in a trivia competition about those books. Our last practice will be during lunch this week on Thursday. Our school competition will be next Thursday during 2nd &
3rd periods. These students have worked really hard, all at home and on their own to prepare, and we are so proud of each of them!
