Starting March 10 – 21, Indian Hills will be participating in our annual Make a Wish Fundraiser! Students and parents will be asked to participate in a variety of ways. The biggest way for everyone to participate is through donations! These can be done online or in person. Students specifically will have the opportunity to bring cash to donate. 6th, 7th, and 8th grade will be competing against each other to see who can raise the most money in their donation bin. Pennies and paper bills are positive points while silver coins of any kind count as negative points. Students can sabotage the other grades by putting silver coins in the other grades’ donation bins while putting pennies and/or paper bills in their own. The bins will be kept in the font office every day for those wanting to donate!
Jarett is a resilient 6-year-old. Like many children his age, Jarett has a vivid imagination and can create play out of thin air. On a good day, you find his mother chasing him
through the house with his siblings, playing his own made-up games. His family describes him as caring, observant, independent and honest. Jarett is not afraid to tell anyone how he feels, especially nurses with needles. On the flip side, he has a
wonderful sense of humor, and if he likes somebody, they’ll know through his jokes and warm smile.
In February of 2024, Jarett’s mother noticed he had swollen limp nodes. Initially, she thought he had a typical virus, but after further monitoring, she noticed they continued to enlarge. His family took him to a local hospital, but after a few x-rays, he was immediately referred to Primary Children’s Hospitals. There, Jarett underwent a CT scan revealing he had leukemia. Since then, Jarett has had over 70 chemotherapy
treatments and has spent over 100 days in the clinic receiving care. “He’s had to learn to do hard things,” Emily explained, struggling to describe how the medical treatment has affected her son.
Jarett finds solace in the LDS hymn Gethsemane and loves the song “Wish” by Rascal Flats. He loves games, nights, and movie nights with his family, and when he is up to it, he jumps on the trampoline and goes sledding in the winter. Jarett’s favorite games with friends he has made are hide-and-seek and running as fast as possible.
Jarett is still deciding on a wish. His parents are letting him process the idea of a wish and that it will be granted. For now, he enjoys dreaming up options.
A few of his favorite things include: Spider-Man, the color red, playing games, pizza, chicken nuggets, In-N-Out burgers, and oreos.

Another way students can participate is through Spirit Days! These will be taking place the 10th all the way through the 21st! Come dressed up to participate and raise awareness!

Any size of donation is appreciated. Grade level teams will be rewarded for how much money they raise! Below you will see screenshots of the rewards students can earn based on how much money their grade raises.

We appreciate our NJHS for the hard work they’ve done in putting on this fundraiser, with the support our amazing PTSA. This is a wonderful opportunity for us to be a part of and we encourage any and all participation. Thank you for your support!
