Book Blitz is a district-sponsored event where teams of three to five students take on the task of reading 20 books in 6 months. Miss McGowan holds monthly and bi-monthly meetings in the library for teams to practice for the competition, making the competition fun by having fun treats for every meeting. During the competition, students are asked three rounds of 20 questions where they have to listen to the details well enough to identify the books. The top two teams qualify to compete at the district level. The “All the Books” team won first place this year. Their team made the commitment at the beginning that every team member would read every book. Congratulations to Gideon Green, Vivian Lee, Andrew Sweat, and Daniel Craig (left to right) for all their efforts. Their commitment paid off with their first place win!
The second-place team, “Good Bookin’ Girls” also get to compete at the district level. Congratulations to Emma Mendes, Ruby Helm, Malia Woodward, Phoebe Fullmer, and Molly Weiler (left to right)!

In addition, 7 students entered the individual competition. The two winners of that competition were Vivian Lee (first place) and Phoebe Fullmer (second place). Those two students will represent Indian Hills in the individual division on April 16th. Good luck to the teams and individuals involved! Thanks to them for all their hard work.
