This message is for parents and guardians of children in Canyons District. Severe winter weather is prompting Canyons District to make the decision to pivot to remote learning on Wednesday, Feb. 22. While all schools will be closed for the day, students are asked to continue learning via technology. Students also may be assigned other learning opportunities by their teachers. Instructions about the day’s remote-learning activities will be sent to families by schools and individual teachers. This announcement is for one day only. Parents will be notified if remote-learning extended for additional day. The morning’s schedule extracurricular activities will be canceled unless road conditions improve enough to be able to safely hold such activities. More information will be provided on Wednesday about afternoon and evening activities. We understand inclement weather can cause power and Internet outages. If you lose power or Internet access at home, contact your child’s teacher or school to report the outage and have your child work on previously assigned learning activities. Questions? Please call 801-826-5000 or send an email to communications@canyonsdistrict.org. Stay warm and stay safe.
